Common questions and answers about MyChart
To use MyChart, you need a computer with an up-to-date browser or a mobile device with the MyChart app, plus an email address or phone number that can receive texts.
Search for MyChart in the App Store or Google Play to download the app. If your organization has a branded app, search for it by name instead.
Create a MyChart account using an activation code from your healthcare organization or through online self-signup. Follow the steps to verify your identity.
MyChart is only available at organizations that use Epic software. View the full list of MyChart organizations by selecting Find your MyChart. If your organization is not listed, contact them directly.
MyChart is available from most countries, but each healthcare organization decides which countries can access their servers. Contact your organization if you have trouble logging in while traveling.
Enter your username and password on your healthcare organization's MyChart website or the MyChart mobile app to log in.
Update the email address or phone number on your MyChart account in Personal Information. Contact your healthcare organization's help desk for help with changes you are not able to make yourself.

The information in MyChart comes directly from your medical record. Ask your provider to update incorrect information at your next visit, or contact your healthcare organization's medical records department.
Go to Find Care and select Schedule an Appointment in MyChart to schedule or request an appointment with your provider. Depending on the appointment type, you might schedule it yourself or request a callback.
Use eCheck-In in MyChart before your appointment to verify insurance, update medications, answer questionnaires, and pay your copay before you arrive.
Use Share Everywhere in MyChart to give any provider temporary access to your health information. Care Everywhere lets your providers securely access records from other organizations.

Go to the Sharing Hub in MyChart to invite someone to access your record or to request access to a family member's account. Each organization has their own rules around proxy access.
Proxy access to a child's MyChart account changes as they get older due to privacy rights. Each organization determines the ages at which access might become limited or be removed. Contact your organization for details.
MyChart Central lets you link your MyChart accounts from different healthcare organizations so you can use a single login to access them all. Access MyChart Central from your phone or computer.
Your Epic ID is the email address you use to log in to MyChart Central. Your Epic ID and password can log you in to any MyChart account you have linked to MyChart Central. Change your Epic ID email or password in Account Settings.

MyChart Central does not display your family's health information. If you have proxy access, select Friends and family on a linked account card to see the MyChart accounts you can access at that organization. Select the arrow to go to that organization's MyChart to view their information.
Sign up for MyChart Central to use one Epic ID login for all your linked MyChart accounts across different healthcare organizations. You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States.
Log in to MyChart Central using your Epic ID and password. Your Epic ID is the email address you used when you created your MyChart Central account.
Your organization might not have joined the MyChart Central network yet. Select Find your MyChart and filter by MyChart Central to check if your organization participates.
Log in to your MyChart Central account and select Link new account on the home page. If you cannot find your organization, they might not participate in MyChart Central yet.
If your MyChart account fails to link to MyChart Central, make sure your contact information is up to date and accurate at both accounts. Contact your healthcare organization's MyChart help desk if you continue to have problems.
When you update your contact information in MyChart Central, those updates automatically sync to all your linked MyChart accounts. Go to Auto-Update Settings to manage which organizations receive updates.
A passkey is securely stored on your device so you do not have to remember a password. Set up a passkey in Account Settings under Manage passkeys. The next time you log in, select Log in with passkey.
MyChart Central protects your account with two-step verification, passkeys, and trusted device settings.
If you forget your MyChart Central password, select Forgot login information? on the login page. Enter the email or phone number linked to your account and follow the prompts to reset your password.
Two-step verification codes for MyChart Central are sent to the verified email address or phone number on file for your MyChart Central account. If you do not have a MyChart Central account, select Forgot login information? to recover your account.
If you still have access to one contact method, log in to MyChart Central and update your information. If you lost access to both, contact the MyChart help desk for each of your linked healthcare organizations.
Your account locks automatically after too many failed login attempts and unlocks on its own after a period of time. You can also log in on a device you have used before or select Forgot Login Information? to recover your account.
If you think your MyChart Central account might be compromised, change your password right away, review your account activity for anything unusual, and remove any remembered devices you do not recognize.
Delete your MyChart Central account from Account Settings. Your health information stays with your linked healthcare organizations and is not deleted.
Go to Messages and select Send a message in MyChart to send a secure, non-urgent medical question to your care team. View replies in your Message Center.
MyChart allows one recipient per message so the right person on your care team responds. Send separate messages if you need to reach multiple providers.
Most healthcare organizations respond to MyChart messages within three business days. Use MyChart messages for non-urgent medical questions only. Call 911 for emergencies.
Go to Communication and select Request a Referral in MyChart. Enter the provider you want to see, a reason for the referral, and a brief message explaining your request.
Each organization chooses which providers are available for messaging. You can usually only message providers you have seen recently or have an upcoming visit with.
View your lab and test results in MyChart as soon as they become available, along with standard ranges and provider comments. You can set up email or text notifications in Communication Preferences.
Go to Test Results in MyChart, select a result, and select Compare result trends. Select Download at the bottom of the page to save a PDF of your results over time.
Go to My Record and select Health Summary to view your immunization records. You can find COVID-19 testing and vaccination information in the COVID-19 activity on the MyChart home screen.
Video visits let you meet with a provider without coming to the clinic in person. Use a web browser or the MyChart mobile app to connect by video.

Go to Billing Summary in MyChart to view your outstanding balance and make a payment with a credit card or bank account. You can also view past statements and billing details.
Submit a financial assistance application in MyChart at Billing > Financial Assistance to see if resources are available to help pay your medical bills. A financial counselor will follow up after you apply.
Go to Insurance Summary in MyChart to review your coverage details, deductible, and out-of-pocket expenses. You can also request changes, remove a coverage, or add a new one.
Go to the Estimates activity in MyChart and select Create a New Estimate. Search for a service or browse by category to get a cost estimate based on your insurance.

Your health information is stored with your healthcare organization. Epic does not have access to your data and cannot reset your password. Contact your healthcare organization directly for help.
Your provider can see your full medical record so they can give you the best care. If both organizations participate in Care Everywhere, your provider might also see information from your record at another organization.
When you deactivate your MyChart account, you lose access and stop receiving MyChart communications. Your medical information is not deleted. Contact your healthcare organization to reactivate your account.
