How do I prepare for my video visit?

To help your video visit go smoothly, complete the following steps before your video visit:

  • If you join the video visit on your mobile device, make sure the camera app is up-to-date and your microphone works.
  • If you join the video visit on your desktop computer:
    • Make sure you have a webcam set up. This can be a webcam that's part of a laptop or a separate USB webcam.
    • Make sure you've installed any required browser plug-ins, software, or apps with the most recent updates.
    • Make sure your microphone permissions are enabled, or that you know where to find them in your computer’s settings.

Before joining your video visit, log in to MyChart and navigate to the visit details page. Select Test hardware to make sure your camera, microphone, and speakers work. It’s also a good idea to repeat these steps at least 30 minutes before your video visit begins.
