Your healthcare organization takes great care to keep your health information private and secure. Access to your information in MyChart is controlled through secure activation codes and personal login credentials, like a username and password.
If you use the MyChart mobile app, after you have logged in with your password, you can also turn on additional ways to log in, such as by using a four-digit passcode (PIN), facial recognition, or fingerprint login. MyChart also supports passkeys, which can be saved to your device and allow you to log in without needing to remember your username and password.
MyChart also uses two-step verification to help ensure that your account stays secure even if someone else has your username or password. When you log in, you must enter a code that is sent to you by email or text message, in addition to using your username and password.
You might receive email or text notifications that contain links to MyChart. These notifications allow you to log in to MyChart securely using a link that expires after a short time. Keeping your MyChart account secure means keeping your phone number and email account secure. If you think that your phone number or email account might be compromised, you can change the phone number or email account on file on the Personal Information activity in MyChart.
When you need to contact your healthcare organization, all MyChart messaging is done while you are logged in to the website or mobile app, which keeps your information more secure than conventional email.
Two-step verification adds security to your MyChart account by requiring a code from your email, text message, or authenticator app when you log in. Change your verification method in Account Settings.
