Community Training Hub

Help your communities use MyChart to the fullest

Are you an educator or program manager helping people in your community learn how to use MyChart?

Epic has created classroom-based materials to help trainers in their community learn about and teach MyChart. With guidance from an educator like yourself, the materials should be presented to patients in a classroom setting. You can explain the benefits of using a patient portal and how to use MyChart to complete common tasks for healthcare—no experience using MyChart is needed. Epic's goal is to make this content available to health systems and other groups that provide technology or healthcare support in their communities, such as public library systems, senior centers, and community health workers.

Guided simulation of the MyChart website

This is a slimmed-down representation of MyChart that class participants can use to practice workflows. There is a version with guidance, including callouts to show class participants where to click, and a version without guidance, which provides a more realistic representation of what MyChart looks like. Participants are not expected to share their own information or use their own MyChart account, so their information is kept confidential.

Quick start guide and tip sheet

Class participants can take home either of these as a reminder of the steps to complete the tasks discussed in class and additional MyChart workflow.

Survey for class participants

Share this survey with class participants so they can provide feedback about how comfortable they are with using technology, whether they found the class to be helpful, and what topics they’d like to see covered in the class.
