Rosie's Story
“In spring of 2024 my mother-in-law suffered from a bilateral pulmonary embolism, which after a few months lead to a lymphoma diagnosis. She had multiple complications throughout her journey and with my husband and I living seven states away it was challenging to stay up to date on all of her appointments and latest test results. After being added as a MyChart proxy it was like night and day! When she was hospitalized I could reach out to her doctors to cancel upcoming appointments; I was able to easily help her stay on top of her meds (which were numerous and constantly changing); I could view all her after visit summaries for care instructions. One time during an infusion visit I even saw test results as soon as they came in and was able to alert her nurse that her kidneys were failing again and get her started on key interventions much sooner. MyChart gave me the power to be an informed advocate for my mother-in-law, helped coordinate care across her many specialists, and gave me peace of mind when I could not be at her bedside that I would have the latest and greatest information available to me seven states away.”
